Trickey was the first coach elected to the ORU Athletics Hall of Fame. Trickey won a school-record 214 basketball games during his 11 seasons at ORU from 1969-1974 and 1987-1993. Trickey's 1974 squad reached the NCAA Elite Eight, losing in overtime to Kansas at the Mabee Center. During his  first stint at ORU, the Titans were among the highest-scoring teams in the nation and won an amazing 84 percent of their games. Trickey coached six All-Americans, including ORU Hall of Famers Richard Fuqua and Anthony Roberts; and 10 players drafted by the NBA or ABA, including Hall of Famers Alvin Scott and Haywoode Workman.
