If you are an athlete, Oral Roberts University (ORU) offers an excellent opportunity for you to continue your skills at the collegiate level. ORU provides an excellent education, offering 63 majors. Golden Eagle student-athletes compete in 16 NCAA Division I varsity sports. The university is distinctive in placing emphasis not only on academics, but also on a student's personal growth with God. Our academically renowned faculty are Christian leaders that have a heart for students desiring to see each student excel academically and personally. I would like to express my appreciation to you for showing interest in the ORU Spirit Program.

Spirit Video Submissions
The program will be accepting video submissions for those interested in becoming part of our 2020-21 Spirit Team. The deadline for video and tryout material submission is Saturday, May 2 by 11:59 p.m. The video submission can be sent via We Transfer and emailed to spirit@oru.edu.
When developing your video, make sure that the content projects the ideal collegiate image. You should consider introducing yourself, discussing your experience and why you would like to be a Golden Eagle Spirit Leader. Be sure to highlight your best skills. Clean execution of skills is very important. Please do not sacrifice safety protocols in an attempt to perform advanced skills in which you are not prepared.
Video submissions should include a real time compilation of the following:
•Introduction of yourself and why you would like to be part of our program. (All Spirit Applicants)
•Description of your experience (All Spirit Applicants)
•Jumps (toe touches, pikes, hurdlers, etc.) (Cheer Only)
•Standing tumbling skills (Cheer Only)
•Running tumbling sequence (Cheer Only)
•Stunting skills (Cheer Only)
•Motions (i.e. cheers/chants/choreography) (All Spirit Applicants)
•Pirouettes (Pom Only)
•Toe touch or Russian (Pom Only)
Make sure that your submission is a current evaluation of your skills and you are exercising safe practices while filming.

•1 letter of recommendation from previous coach/mentor.
•Spirit Team Application (CLICK HERE)
•Please attach a head shot or body shot for reference.
Mascot submission:
Submit the same tryout materials as listed above as well as a video submission of the following...
-Introduce yourself and tell why you'd like to be Eli the Golden Eagle.
-Perform a 1 min. 30 sec. skit to music
-Any tumbling/dancing skills if available
-Men's motions for fight song and Dr. Who
