TULSA, Oklahoma – The Oral Roberts baseball team is back on the road, taking a midweek trip to Stillwater to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys Tuesday, April 7 at 6 p.m.

Last Time Out:
The Golden Eagles are coming off their third consecutive Summit League series sweep, defeating Northern Colorado 3-1, 3-2 and 3-2.
 
Makani Tanaka and Hudson Ellis each tallied four hits over the three-game series. Ellis recorded an extra-base hit, driving a double down the left-field line to bring in the go-ahead run Saturday and secure the sweep over the Bears. Cooper Kelly added two doubles, while Will Edminson hit his first home run of the season, a 396-foot shot over the center-field wall.
 
Easton Teel earned the win in the series opener, tossing 7.0 innings while allowing just one run and striking out four. Jack Hill made two appearances over the weekend and earned both saves, throwing 3.0 shutout innings with four strikeouts.
 
Inside the Series:
Dating back to 1972, the Golden Eagles hold a 43-39 all-time series advantage over Oklahoma State. The teams met once last season, with ORU earning a 10-6 win in Stillwater.
 
Tuesday's game marks the first of three midweek matchups between the Golden Eagles and Cowboys this season.
 
National Recognition:
Sophomore starter Easton Teel continues to make his mark nationally, as the right-hander's 2.89 career ERA ranks 14th in NCAA Division I, while his 1.72 walks per nine innings rank 10th.
 
Golden Eagle Defense:
ORU's defense ranks among the nation's best, as its .985 fielding percentage is fourth nationally. The Golden Eagles have also turned 18 double plays this season, the third-most in the league.
 
Pitching Matchup:  
Tuesday: RHP Brenden Asher (0-2 / 5.63 ERA / 8.0 IP) vs. LHP TP Wentworth (1-0 / 6.08 ERA / 13.1 IP)
 
Scouting the Opponent:
Oklahoma State enters the game 21-11 overall with a 6-6 mark in the Big 12.
 
The Cowboys recently swept a series against Cincinnati, winning 12-9, 11-3 and 10-4.
 
Colin Bruggemann led OSU in the series opener with six RBI, hitting a two-run homer in the second inning and a grand slam in the seventh to give the Cowboys the lead.
 
Tuesday's projected starter, TP Wentworth, also contributed offensively over the weekend, starting in the outfield Saturday and leading the team with five RBI while going 3-for-4 with two home runs.
 
As a team, the Cowboys are hitting .275 with 288 hits, including 59 doubles, seven triples and 62 home runs, which ranks ninth nationally. OSU has also drawn 181 walks, ranking No. 25 in the country.
 
Kollin Ritchie ranks third nationally with 18 home runs this season. The junior infielder is eighth in the nation and third in the Big 12 with 48 RBI, and ranks 14th with a .818 slugging percentage.
 
On the mound, OSU holds a 5.64 team ERA, allowing 9.02 hits per nine innings. The Cowboys rank second in the Big 12 and 14th nationally with 10.9 strikeouts per nine innings.
 
Wentworth, a transfer from Clemson, has a 6.08 ERA this season. The left-hander has allowed nine runs on 19 hits with 10 walks and 11 strikeouts over 13.1 innings, appearing in seven games with three starts.
 
Head coach Josh Holliday holds a 496-274-2 career record, all in 14 seasons with the Cowboys.
