TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team left a total of 14 runners on base in a 4-2 loss to Wichita State Tuesday night from J.L. Johnson Stadium.

The Golden Eagles threatened by reaching base in each of the nine innings played in their regular season finale at home scoring only lone runs in the fifth and ninth. ORU used a single and two walks loading the bases on one out in the final frame, but stranded the potential winning run at first base as it finished 1-for-18 with runners on base in the contest.

The Shockers hit a two-run single in the second and added two more runs in the sixth on a fielder's choice and groundout to sweep the season series against the Golden Eagles.

Quote of the Day

"We needed one hit. We needed a hit in a crucial moment and we couldn't get it. We left a ton of guys on, had baserunners on in every inning, and we just couldn't get that big hit to get us over the hump." - Head Coach Ryan Folmar

Turning Point

After ORU cut into the Shockers margin at 2-1 in the fifth, the visitors took advantage of a walk opening the sixth inning. Tallying a single on a successful hit and run put runners on the corners before a stolen base put both into scoring position. WSU scored on a close play at the plate hitting a ground ball and stretched its lead to 4-1 plating a run on a RBI groundout.

Inside the Box Score

- A staff day on the mound for the Golden Eagles consisted of nine different pitchers throwing an inning each started by Trey Wolf. The freshman made his first collegiate start tossing a scoreless opening frame before Sam Rainwater, Landon Odom, Brody Gibson, Trevor McCutchin, Hunter Swift and Spencer Henson also kept Wichita State off the scoreboard. The Shockers used eight pitchers as the teams combined to send 17 players to the mound Tuesday.

- Henson and Riley Keizor led the offense reaching base four times as Henson went 2-for-3 drawing two walks, while Keizor hit a lead-off double in the sixth and was walked three times matching his career high. Henson also posted his Summit League-leading 45th RBI on a two-out single in the fifth.

- Andrew Pace added a RBI sacrifice fly in the ninth inning, but saw his 37-game streak of reaching base safely snapped. It was the second longest stretch for ORU in the last 20 years as only Ben Petralli's streak of 40 games in 2008 was longer.

- Jake McMurray and Hunter Wilson registered the runs for the home team as Wilson tallied a pair of hits. Swift went 1-for-3 at the plate and also walked two times as the Golden Eagles closed the day earning 11 free passes behind 10 walks and a hit batter.
