OMAHA, Nebraska – The Oral Roberts baseball team moved to 10-0 in Summit League play after a 9-0 shutout at Omaha Friday evening.
Wailele Kane-Yates opened the scoring for the Golden Eagles with a home run to left in the top of the first.
ORU added two in the second, starting when
Kole Dudding hit a ball into deep center and slid into third with an RBI triple, driving in
Martell Davis, who had reached on a single. Dudding later scored on an RBI single by
Will Edmunson to make it 3-0.
The Golden Eagles continued to pull away, tacking on six runs in the fifth.
Hudson Ellis opened the inning with a double and moved to third on a groundout before scoring on a triple by
Makani Tanaka.
Kane-Yates followed with a sacrifice fly to left to drive in Tanaka, giving ORU a 5-0 advantage.
Cooper Combs reached on a single through the left side and advanced to second as
Cooper Kelly reached on an error. Davis then drew a walk to load the bases for a two-RBI single from Dudding.
Keaton Campbell followed with a walk before Ellis drove in Davis with an RBI single. The Golden Eagles capped the scoring when Dudding scored on a wild pitch, making it 9-0.
ORU starter
Easton Teel (3-1) tossed 7.0 shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out six.
Maddox Meyer (2-3) was charged with the loss after allowing eight runs, five earned, on eight hits.
