TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts volleyball team finished the first day of the ORU Volleyball Classic going 0-2 on the day. In their first match against Sam Houston, the Golden Eagles fell 0-3 in their home opener. In their second game of the day, ORU lost to Bethune-Cookman 1-3, taking the second set but losing sets one, three and four.
 
Against Sam Houston, the Freshmen duo of Anzley Rinard and Rachel Resta commanded the ORU offense as Rinard led the Golden Eagles in kills (10) and Resta led the team in assists (20). Trinity Freeman also recorded 10 kills on the game, matching Rinard and the team high in kills. At the net, Natassia Baptiste led the team in block assists (3), while Kedron Burk and Trinity Freeman tallied two block assists each. Breanna Rivas led the Golden Eagles' defensive efforts, racking up 13 digs.
 
In the Golden Eagles match against Bethune-Cookman, Trinity Freeman and Natassia Baptiste recorded 18 and 10 kills, respectively. Baptiste had a .364 kill percentage on the game, leading ORU. Maite Solabarrieta and Rachel Resta continue to rack up their assist numbers, tallying 18 and 17 each (35 of 41 total assists). Kedron Burk racked up three block assists and one solo block in the front row while Thaynara de Jesus totaled two block assists. Freshman Anzley Rinard led the team in digs with 13, followed by Rachel Resta and Breanna Rivas who totaled 11 and 10.
