TULSA, Okla. – The Golden Eagles couldn't seal the deal against Tulsa, falling to their local rival. The Oral Roberts volleyball team closed out the ORU Volleyball Classic with a loss against the Hurricane on Sunday afternoon inside the Mabee Center.
After the match, outside hitter
Trinity Freeman was named to the ORU Volleyball Classic All-Tournament team. Freeman tallied 34 kills (.181%), two assists and 17 digs in three tournament games. The senior and leader of the team, adds yet another impressive accolade to her resume.
Against Tulsa,
Trinity Freeman and
Rachel Resta led the Golden Eagles' offensive attack. Freeman racked up a team-high six kills while Resta led the team in assists, tallying nine. Resta led ORU in assists in two of three matches, tallying 46 on the weekend.
Alaina Larson and
Anzley Rinard also elevated the Golden Eagles' performance, recording nine and seven digs, respectively.
The Golden Eagles trailed early in all three sets by deficits that were too large to overcome, leading to a 0-3 sweep by the Hurricane.
