TULSA, OKLA. – The Oral Roberts baseball team scored four times in the eighth inning but their comeback fell just short as they fell to Dallas Baptist 6-5 on Sunday afternoon.

For the sixth consecutive game, the Golden Eagles found themselves playing from behind in the early innings as the Patriots scored twice in the third and fourth innings respectively knocking starter Trent Martin out of the game.

In the bottom of the fourth ORU would get on the board with Jack Schark's RBI single scoring Makani Tanaka to make it 4-1.

In the sixth, DBU would score two more times on a steal of home and an RBI triple, both coming with two outs.

The Golden Eagles' bats came alive against the Patriot bullpen in the eighth after knocking out starter Rian Schwede.  Cooper Combs doubled down the left field line scoring Tanaka and Will Edmunson cutting the lead to three.  Moments later, Ethan Fender drove in Combs on a ground out and Keaton Campbell scored Wailele Kane-Yates to make it a one-run game.

In the top of the ninth Conner Floyd was called upon in another late-game situation, this time sitting the Patriots down in order setting the table for the offense in the bottom half.  However, ORU would also go in order and drop the series finale 6-5.
