TULSA, OKLA—The Oral Roberts baseball team's defense kept them in the game, but they failed to score in the late innings, and they fell to Arkansas 4-1.

Right-hander Brendan Asher made his first career start going 4.0 innings allowing four hits, one earned run, two walks, and striking out two.

The ORU bats struggled in the early stages of the game, but the Razorbacks' pitching staff controlled the pace with five strikeouts through two innings. Arkansas carried that momentum over to the offense, scoring the game's first run in the second inning.

Both teams wouldn't see a runs core until the fifth inning when the Razorbacks went to the bullpen.  The Golden Eagles seized momentum as Ethan Fender drove in Jack Schark to tie the game at one.

Arkansas would strike right back, however, with two in the bottom half and would never look back.   ORU would have limited opportunities offensively down the stretch and the Razorbacks would grab one more run of insurance in the bottom of the eight stretching it to a three-run game.

ORU would put one runner on in the ninth and couldn't do anything with it as they dropped the first of two games in Fayetteville 4-1.
