TULSA, OKLA. – The Oral Roberts baseball erased a five-run deficit to defeat Missouri State for the second time this season, 9-7.

Jack Schark went 3-for-3 with a solo home run, his first of the season, posting his third straight multi-hit game.

The Golden Eagles were the aggressors on the road to begin Tuesday's contest. Will Edmunson hit a leadoff solo homer, and both of his big flies have led off games this season. Later in the frame, Schark also cleared the left-field fence, and ORU grabbed a 2-0 lead.

In the bottom half the Bears responded right away with four runs on a two-run homer and a two RBI double to double up ORU after one.  Missouri State plated one in the second and two in the third to take a 7-2 lead.

The Golden Eagle bats exploded in the top of the fourth scoring six times in the inning to grab the lead.  Martell Davis hit his team-leading fourth homer to start off the inning driving in two.  Later, ORU loaded the bases and went station to station as Cooper Combs was hit by a pitch driving in a run, Schark walked to plate another, and Keaton Campbell was also plunked to cap off the inning taking an 8-7 lead.

Both offenses saw opportunities come and go as the Bears loaded the bases in the fifth and sixth but came up empty both times.  ORU had another bases-loaded chance but grounded into a 4-6-3 double play to end the threat.

To the eighth the Golden Eagles had loaded them up again and would convert this time as Makani Tanaka scored on a wild pitch giving ORU a run of insurance leading 9-7.

In the bottom of the ninth it was up to Braydon Sanford to shut the door for his first save of the season and with the tying run on second got a line out to right field and sealed Oral Roberts' fifth straight win.
