ABILENE, Texas – A brace by
Kennedy Langebartels propelled the Golden Eagles to a 4-1 win over Abilene Christian Thursday night in Texas.

ORU found itself in an early 1-0 deficit after the Wildcats capitalized on a turnover and scored in the 19
th minute. The Golden Eagles, however, remained poised and went right back at ACU. In the 27
th minute,
Ariana Fresquez played a long ball to a sprinting
Julia Thasaphong. Thasaphong settled the pass and beat her defender towards the goal. At the last second, Thasaphong dumped the pass off to a cutting Langebartels who evened the score 1-1. Just three minutes later, Fresquez lofted in a free kick to the ACU box that found
Jordan Grigsby, who headed it into the back of the net. ORU took a 2-1 lead and carried it into the break.

Six minutes into the second half,
Samantha Guzman controlled the ball in the middle of ACU's side of the field. Guzman found Langebartels crashing towards the goal and the graduate student scored her second goal of the night. In the 54
th minute, Guzman went on the attack again and fired a shot that ricocheted off the left post. Sophomore
Luci Rodriguez found herself in the right spot at the right time and fired the missed shot into the upper right corner of the goal, stretching ORU's lead to three. The Golden Eagles dominated possession and played sound defensively for the remainder of the match and earned their third-straight victory.
