ABILENE, Tex. – The Golden Eagles travel to Abilene and Stephenville, Texas to participate in the Wildcat Classic and face off against Tarleton State this week. The Wildcat Classic, hosted by Abilene Christian University, begins on Thursday, September 19th and ends on Friday, September 20th. ORU will play Alabama A&M in their first game of the Wildcat Classic on Thursday at noon before concluding non-conference play against Abilene Christian on Friday at 6:00 p.m. Between Wildcat Classic games, the Golden Eagles play Tarleton State on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

Opening Serve

• The Golden Eagles rank first in digs (485) and first in total attacks (1,184) within The Summit League.
• Senior and outside hitter Trinity Freeman ranks first in The Summit League in total attacks (354) while also ranking second in total kills (120). Freeman is also averaging 3.53 kills per set.
• Natassia Baptiste is leaving a mark on offense, leading the team in hit percentage, hitting .219% and tallying 57 kills.
• The middle blocker duo of Kedron Burk and Natassia Baptiste have been dominant at the net, recording 18.0 and 16.0 total blocks respectively. Burk is averaging 0.62 blocks per set while Baptiste is averaging 0.47.
• Breanna Rivas is closing in on 1,000 digs as a Golden Eagle, needing just 136 to reach the impressive milestone.
• The ORU volleyball program is currently six wins away from 1,000 wins as a program.

 
Inside the Matchup: Alabama A&M

• The Golden Eagles face off against Alabama A&M for the second time this season, playing against the Bulldogs at the Alabama A&M Tournament earlier this year. The all-time record between the Golden Eagles and Bulldogs is 1-1.

• ORU has never played against Tarleton State. Their first matchup will take place on Thursday.

 
Inside the Matchup: Abilene Christian

• Abilene Christian leads the series against the Golden Eagles 6-4-1. Yes, that is a rare tie that took place in 1979 when the Golden Eagles and Wildcats tied 1-1.
