WACO, Texas – The Oral Roberts baseball team suffer their first sweep at the hands of Baylor this past weekend after a wild series-finale.

Alex Rodgers would get ORU on the board first in the opening frame, as he drove in Holden Breeze and Kevin Booker off an RBI Single. Baylor responded with an single in third to tie the game at two.

The Golden Eagles would then score in back to back innings off a wild pitch and fielder's choice. However Baylor stayed in the fight and would score three unanswered runs to enter the fifth with a 5-4 lead.

In the top of the seventh, the Golden Eagles would rally and regain momentum as they scored three runs, capped off by a RBI by Ryan Blackwell to put Baylor in a two-run deficit. 

Unfortunately Baylor drove in six runs across the bottom of the seventh and eight, building a lead that would prove to be insurmountable as the Bears would hold off ORU to complete the sweep.

-  Booker now has five multi-hit games in his past six outings.
- ORU pitchers would strike out five batters on the day.
-  Blake Nichols would reach base safely three times.
Notes
- The Golden Eagles have been swept for the first time since March of 2023 (DBU).
-  ORU has committed eight errors during this series
- The Golden Eagles are now 21-29 all-time against their Big 12 foe.
