TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team will look to snap a three-match losing streak Tuesday night as they travel to face No. 20 Kansas at 6:30 p.m. inside the Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena in Lawrence, Kansas.

Opening Serve
• Trinity Freeman earned All-Tournament honors for the second consecutive week as the junior tallied 34 kills, 3.78 kills per set and 35 digs at the Tulsa Invitational. Through three weekends of play, Freeman leads the Golden Eagles with 102 kills and 109.5 points. Among the Summit League, Freeman ranks first in kills per set (3.52), third in total kills, fifth in points and 12th in digs per set.

• Setter Kalena Vaivai continues to orchestrate the Golden Eagle attack as the senior sits fourth in the League in total assists with 239. Entering the week, the senior is 150 assists away from reaching 1,000 in her ORU career.

• Middle blocker Kedron Burk has been efficient in her attack opportunities this season as the sophomore ranks sixth in the League in hitting percentage with a .326 mark. 

• Defensively, Thaynara de Jesus and Breanna Rivas lead ORU with 96 digs. In the Golden Eagles' final match of the Tulsa Invitational, de Jesus scooped up a season-best 23 digs. 

• As a team, ORU leads the League and ranks 10th nationally in attacks per set (37.62). The Golden Eagles also sit third in the conference in digs per set (15.72).

• Tuesday's match marks the Golden Eagles' first against a ranked opponent since 2019. ORU is in search of its first win over a ranked opponent since 1997.

• In the offseason, head coach Luke Ward welcomed eight additions to the 2023 roster, including four freshmen.

Inside the Matchup
• Tuesday's contest marks the 17th meeting all-time and first since 2004 between the two squads.

• The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series, 11-5, but are in search of their first win in Lawrence, Kan.

• In the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) rankings, the Jayhawks rose to No. 20 after going 2-0 at the Shocker Volleyball Classic last weekend. Kansas enters the match with a 5-1 record overall.
