MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team defeated Kansas State, 2-1, Sunday night for its first power five win since 2012.

Kansas State opened the game firing. The Wildcats scored in the 15th minute and maintained pressure on the Golden Eagles with 14 first half shots.

ORU regrouped at halftime and set the tone on both ends of the field. The Golden Eagles became the aggressors on offense and had Kansas State on their heels.

At the 64th minute, the ORU pressure resulted in a Kansas State handball inside their own box. Forward Samantha See stepped up and knocked in the penalty kick for her first goal of the season and evened the score, 1-1.

Eight minutes later, the Golden Eagles earned a corner kick opportunity. Kylee Munson sent a low arcing ball that Julia Thasaphong stepped in front of and tapped in, lifting ORU up, 2-1, on K-State.

From there, the Golden Eagles played tough-nosed defense for the remainder of the match and came away with the win.
This game resulted in the first power five win of the Austin Risenhoover era and gave ORU its first power five win since 2012. The match gave the Golden Eagles their first win over Kansas State in program history.
