INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Oral Roberts volleyball team (1-4) suffered a pair of sweeps to Eastern Illinois (4-0) and IUPUI (4-1) on Friday at the Hampton Inn Invitational in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

In the opening match against Eastern Illinois, outside hitter Trinity Freeman narrowly missed a double-double as the junior registered a match-best 15 kills on 34 swings (.382) to go along with a team-high nine digs. Setter Kalena Vaivai guided the ORU offensive attack with 27 assists. At the net, Shelbi Steen recorded a match-high tying three blocks. 

As a team, the Golden Eagles registered a .282 attack percentage compared to the Panthers' .269. ORU also tallied eight blocks to Eastern Illinois' three.

In the match against IUPUI, three different Golden Eagles logged at least six kills led by Natassia Baptiste's eight. Thaynara de Jesus and Freeman chipped in with seven and six kills, respectively. Vaivai dished out a match-high 25 assists in the contest. Defensively, Freeman paced the Golden Eagles with 10 digs.

• Freeman led ORU with 21 kills and 19 digs in the two matches. 
• In the opening match, Freeman tallied her 15th career 15-plus kill performance.
• de Jesus totaled 13 kills on the day to go along with nine digs. 
• Vaivai registered 52 assists in the two matches.
• Friday's contest against Eastern Illinois marked the first all-time between the two squads.
• Despite the loss, the Golden Eagles still lead the all-time series against IUPUI, 33-8.
