TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team dropped their fourth straight contest Wednesday evening as they fell to No. 9 Oklahoma State, 9-4, in midweek action at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
Two-way player,
AJ Archambo shined once again at the plate for the Golden Eagles, going 2-for-3 at the dish with an RBI. On the season, Archambo is now 9-for-13.Â
After the Cowboys opened the scoring in the second with a solo home run to right, Archambo had the answer for ORU in the bottom of the frame. The senior poked a single into left, plating
Jackson Loftin to level the score at 1-1.
Oklahoma State quickly answered as Chase Adkison led off the third with a solo shot to left-center, allowing the Cowboys to regain the lead, 2-1. OSU plated two more runs in the frame to take a 4-1 advantage.Â
In the sixth, Oklahoma State tacked on four more runs to their total, all unearned, to stretch their lead to 8-1. A sacrifice fly in the seventh by Jaxson Crull brought home the final run of the game for OSU, making the score 9-1.
Caleb Denny ripped a two-out, two-run double to right-center in the eighth to trim the Cowboy lead to 9-3. The double scored
Mac McCroskey and
Jake McMurray, who reached on back-to-back walks.
An RBI groundout by
Connor Beichler in the ninth plated
