TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts baseball team dropped their second consecutive contest Saturday afternoon, falling to Dallas Baptist, 5-4, at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
 
The Patriots struck first as Andrew Benefield led off the second with a solo home run to left-center. In the fourth, DBU tacked on two more runs to their lead to stretch their advantage to 3-0.
 
After a two-out double by Caleb Denny put a runner in scoring position, Holden Breeze came through with an RBI single to make it 3-1, DBU.
 
The Patriots plated two more runs in the eighth to extend their lead to 5-1.
 
In the ninth, AJ Archambo doubled with one out and later scored on a Jake McMurray RBI single to cut the deficit to 5-2. After a walk by Justin Quinn brought the tying run to the plate, Mac McCroskey delivered with a two-run single to bring the Golden Eagles to within one, 5-4. The ensuing batter, Denny popped up to the shortstop to end the game.
 
Inside the Box Score
- McCroskey, Archambo and McMurray all registered two-hit performances.
- Denny and Breeze also tallied a hit in the loss.
- Ledgend Smith picked up the loss on the mound after working six innings and allowing three, one of which was earned. The senior also struck out seven batters.
- In relief, Kaleb McCullough pitched a scoreless frame in the ninth.


Notes
- Saturday's contest marked the 57th meeting all-time between the Golden Eagles and Patriots.
- ORU is now 21-36 all-time against DBU.
- At home, the Golden Eagles are now 11-21 against the Patriots.
