TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team closed out the regular season short Sunday afternoon falling 1-0 to Omaha at the Case Soccer Complex.  

The Omaha Mavericks came out firing in the first half with nine of their 10 total shots coming in the first 45 minutes. The Golden Eagle defense held strong in the opening minutes to not allow a shot on goal while Omaha took three shots in the first 10 minutes.

Marissa Gohr gave Omaha the early 1-0 lead in the 14th minute. Alyssa Hansen sent a corner kick to the middle of the penalty area to Regan Zimmers who then tapped the ball to Gohr for her third goal of the season. Hansen and Zimmers each earned assists. Before the half, Michaela Johnson had ORU's lone shot on goal in the first half to try and tie it up before the break, but was saved by the goalkeeper.

In the second half, ORU had 10 total shots with five on goal. With each chance the Golden Eagles inched closer and closer to a goal, but couldn't connect. Gabrielle Abbey received a corner kick in the 58th minute with a chance of a goal on the back post with a header, but a great play by Omaha's keeper kept the ball out of the goal.

Kennedy Langebartels sent a shot to the net in the 68th minute, but was saved. Samantha Guzman had two shots on goal in the match with her second coming in the 76th minute as she sent a ball on a free kick to the goal, but was also saved. The defense only allowed one total shot in the second half by Omaha.
