DENVER, Colo. – Behind a Samantha See goal in the 106th minute, the Oral Roberts women's soccer team prevailed over North Dakota State in double overtime in the opening round of the Summit League Championship Friday evening at CIBER Field in Denver, Colorado.
With the win, the Golden Eagles advance to the Summit League Championship Semifinals for the first time since 2019. The victory also marked the Golden Eagles' first at the Summit League Championship since 2016.
Despite the Bison recording more shots in the opening half, it was ORU that broke through on the scoreboard as See found the back of the net in the 32nd minute. Kennedy Langebartels set up the goal with a beautiful cross and Kristi Keller found the head of See, who finished it off for her fifth goal of the season. The assists were Langebartels' and Keller's third and first of the season, respectively.
The Bison answered in the opening minute of the second half as Paige Goaley netted her seventh goal of the season to even the score, 1-1. In the 66th minute, NDSU threatened to take the lead as Olivia Lovick registered a shot on goal but Louisa Ramsauer came through with a sliding save to keep the game level at 1-1. The Golden Eagles got a great look in the 83rd minute but Julia Thasaphong was unable to convert as the contest headed to overtime.Â
After neither team found the back of the net in the first overtime, See came through again in the 106th minute with her second goal of the contest to put ORU up 2-1. Jordan Grigsby and Thasaphong connected with See, who just snuck the ball across the line for the game-winning goal.

Quote from Head Coach Austin Risenhoover
"Listen, we have to give NDSU a ton of credit as they disrupted a lot of the stuff we wanted to do. But we talked about how this game is going to be all about our relentless mentality and give our kids credit as they were up for the fight. Our kids were able to change systems. We played every field player so our depth, our fitness and our tactical ability pulled through. Again super proud of our kids. This is a program-changing win as we are now learning how to win in the tournament. We enjoy tonight and we focus on Denver tomorrow."
