TULSA, Okla. – In the opening game of a two-game set, the Golden Eagles were defeated by Missouri State, 8-2 at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
 
On the mound, Andrew Davis made his first start in a Golden Eagle uniform. The Bears got on the board in the first inning and then added runs in the fourth and fifth innings before the Golden Eagles took to the bullpen.
 
ORU pieced together several innings with multiple hits but were unable to push a run across until the eighth inning. In the home half of the eighth, Jordan Wiley slipped a single through the left side of the infield, scoring Joshua Cox from third base.
 
Colten Weber and Landon Odom combined for a strong 3.1 innings out of the bullpen, allowing just one hit and one run.
 
Turning Point
Missouri State took control of the game in the fourth inning, tacking on three runs to take a five run lead.
