DENVER, Colo. – Down nine with just over a minute to play, the Oral Roberts men's basketball team had a shot to tie the game at the buzzer but the shot rimmed out and ORU fell 78-75 at Denver Wednesday at Magness Arena.

Aaron Young was huge in the comeback with a four-point play and a career-best 29 points. Young was 8-9 from 3-point range in the contest and scored 23 in the second half alone. Albert Owens added 16 points and Darian Harris chipped in a career-high 11 points. Both Owens and Harris grabbed seven rebounds to lead the efforts on the boards.

Joe Rosga was 7-7 from the free throw line en route to 17 points to lead the Pioneers. No DU player had more than four rebounds as the Golden Eagles held a 32-19 advantage on the boards.

Turning Point
While the outcome looked bleak with a minute to go, Young led a furious comeback and the result wasn't decided until the final buzzer when Aaron Anderson's 35-foot heave rimmed out.

Individual Leaders
Oral Roberts: Young scored 23 points in the second half alone and had a career high 29 points. In addition to tying Owens for the team lead with seven rebounds, Harris had four assists, setting his career high in that category.
Denver: Rosga's 17 points led the way, while Thomas Neff and Nate Engesser each had four assists, while Jake Pemberton and C.J. Bobbitt each grabbed four rebounds.

Inside the Box Score
- ORU shot the ball well at 53 percent (24-45) from the field and shot 63 percent (12-19) from 3-point range.

- For the second game in a row, the Golden Eagles had 20 turnovers in the game, 13 of which were unforced as Denver recorded just seven steals.

- Denver shot 50 percent (25-50) from the field and from 3-point range (10-20).

- Denver was 18-20 (90 percent) from the free throw line while ORU was 15-19 (79 percent).

- Down as many as nine in the first half, the Golden Eagles whittled away at the lead and then used a 9-0 run with treys from Darian Harris and Aaron Young to take a 17-16 lead.

News and Notes
- Young set his career high with 8 3-pointers in the game. His 8-9 mark was third in ORU history with at least six attempts, only behind Luke Spencer-Gardner and Mikey Manghum, each of whom went 6-6 from long range.

- Harris set a career high with four assists and with seven boards was just one rebound away from matching his career high.

- ORU out-scored Denver 15-9 in the final 1:10 of the game, thanks in large part to Young's four-point play.

- The Golden Eagles were without the services of the nation's eight-leading scorer Obi Emegano for the second straight game.
