FARGO, N.D. - The Oral Roberts University volleyball team dropped
the Summit League opener at North Dakota State on Friday by a score
of 3-0. The Golden Eagles fell to 4-4 overall, while the Bison
improved to 5-2 on the season.
Freshman
Joana Gruber (Santa
Rosa, Brazil) led ORU with a career-high 13 kills against only four
errors, while also posting 10 digs. Fellow newcomers Tatum
Fredeen (Bentonville, Ark.) and
Elizabeth McVicker
(Owasso, Okla.) chipped in eight and seven kills, respectively.
Juliane Vieira (Ribeirao
Preto, Brazil) paced the Golden Eagles with 31 assists on the
night. The ORU senior climbed into ninth place in school history
with 1,534 career assists.
Sophomore
Lauren Ophus (Jenks, Okla.)
tallied 11 digs in the loss for a team-leading 83 on the
season.
The Golden Eagles return to action at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at
South Dakota State.
