FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. �€" The Oral Roberts University
volleyball team dropped a straight set match (30-27, 30-18, 34-32)
to SEC foe Arkansas Tuesday night at Barnhill Arena. The Lady
Razorbacks (13-10) sixth consecutive win dropped the Golden Eagles
to 15-12 on the year.
Sophomore outside hitter Ori Zuzic (Porec, Croatia) paced the ORU
attack with 13 kills, but the entire offense struggled, hitting a
combined .134. The Arkansas defense snuffed out every run that the
Golden Eagles put together, forcing 25 attack errors in the three
game match. Sophomore's Brittany Arnold (Tulsa, OK) and Kim Snow
(DeKalb, IL) chipped in with nine kills each in the losing
effort.
Senior libero Becky Dreher (Prince George, B.C., Canada) had 22
digs, upping her career total to 2,039. She now stands a mere five
digs shy of fifth place on the NCAA's all-time digs list. Heading
into the night she was second in the nation in digs per game,
averaging 6.65 helpers per contest.
The Lady Razorbacks, the SEC's western division leader, were led by
Jennifer Haaser's 13 kills and Ashley Miller's 26 digs.
ORU jumps back into Mid-Con play this weekend, with matches at
Western Illinois and UMKC. The Golden Eagles are currently in
second place in the conference standings with record of 7-3 in
Mid-Con play. Their match on Friday night against the Westerwinds
is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.
