Terron attended IES Eras de Renueva in Leon, Spain, and was ranked as high as 83rd in the Spanish rankings and 5th in the junior rankings. He played three seasons for the University of Auburn at Montgomery in the Gulf South Conference. He played in the No. 1 and 2 spots his second and third years. He was nationally ranked during most of his time at UAM, obtaining his best ranking during his last season with the Warhawks, where he was among the top 20 best players, finishing ranked No. 25 nationally. He defeated some of the country's best players and led his team to achieve their best ranking in the nation, No. 13.
