Earl Hamilton III, M.S., CSCS

Earl Hamilton III joined the ORU athletic department as Director of Sports Performance in May 2025. He comes to the Golden Eagles as an accomplished and highly credentialed athletic performance coach with over a decade of experience training elite athletes across collegiate and professional levels. He most recently served as the Director of Athletic Performance for Men's Basketball at Sacramento State, where he oversees all facets of physical development, including resistance training, sports science integration, return-to-play protocols, and nutrition planning.

Hamilton’s professional journey includes impactful stints with the Houston Rockets and Milwaukee Bucks, where he trained NBA athletes using cutting-edge sports science tools such as Kinexon data and force plate analysis. His programming consistently focused on performance optimization, injury mitigation, and individualized return-to-play strategies. Prior to his NBA tenure, he held key positions at institutions such as Middle Tennessee State, Memphis, Georgia, and McNeese.

A former collegiate soccer player at The Catholic University of America, Hamilton earned his master’s degree in Sports Administration from Georgia State. He holds multiple certifications, including CSCS (NSCA), SCCC (CSCCa), FMS, and Precision Nutrition Level 1, reflecting a holistic and evidence-based approach to athlete development.

Hamilton brings a unique combination of high-level coaching expertise, scientific insight, and a passion for helping athletes reach their full potential on and off the court.
