Played in all 31 games with 26 starts … finished the year as the second leading scorer on the team at 9.9 points per game, but averaged 10.1 points in Summit League play … averaged 5.0 rebounds per game, third on the team and led the way with 47 blocked shots … scored a career high 21 points against FIU (11/22) in the Men Against Breast Cancer Classic, helping ORU to a 3-0 record in the tournament and a tournament championship as well as All-Tournament Team honors … topped the 20-point mark for the second time with 21 against Western Illinois (2/13) … scored in double figures 16 times during the year … led ORU in rebounding 10 times, including nine rebound performances against John Brown (12/9), IPFW (1/28) and in the Summit League Tournament against South Dakota State (3/5) … blocked three or more shots in eight games, and blocked a career best five shots against Western Illinois (2/13) … shot 44.7 percent (119-266) for the season and was 1-9 from 3-point range, but his trey came against Tulsa (12/5) with 19 seconds to play to put ORU up by one in an eventual victory.

Played in all 34 games with five starts in his rookie season with the Golden Eagles … averaged 3.8 points and 2.4 rebounds per game … third on the team with 26 blocked shots … had a season high 18 points on seven field goals—including a 3-pointer—against South Dakota State (2/21) … grabbed a season high eight rebounds against Haskell (12/28) and duplicated the feat against Tabor (1/27) … blocked a season high four shots at Memphis (12/20) … worked his way into the starting lineup against Memphis (12/20) and started at Missouri State (12/22), against Haskell (12/28) and then again versus South Dakota State (1/24) and South Dakota (2/14) … blocked three shots against Haskell (12/28) and led ORU in assists with two against South Dakota State (2/21) … had a block in each of ORU’s two postseason games, including two swats at Loyola (Chicago) (3/23).
Prior to ORU
Played for Coach Tim Ferguson at Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas … helped lead his team to three class 4A final four appearances, including a state runner-up finish in 2013-14 … won back-to-back district titles and was a unanimous first team all-state selection as a junior and senior … earned team MVP honors and was a TABC All-State selection for large private schools.
Personal
Son of Marcella Upshaw and Albert Owens, Sr. … graduated in 2017 with a degree in history at ORU with hopes of becoming a superintendent or politician after finishing a professional basketball career.
