#ORUMBB Falls to South Dakota in Final Seconds

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team fell 75-74 to South Dakota in the final seconds of regulation Saturday night in the Mabee Center.
 
The first half of play saw back-and-forth action in the opening minutes between the two programs. Tied at 13 with 11:32 to play, South Dakota went on an 8-2 run to open an early lead. The Coyotes were able to stretch their lead out to 11 points with 4:30 remaining, but the Golden Eagles closed the first half on a 10-2 run and cut the deficit to four. Issac McBride and Luke Gray chipped in four points apiece during the run and JoJo Moore added a midrange bucket.
 
ORU opened the second half on a 10-4 run to take a 40-38 lead and force a South Dakota timeout. This time, senior guard Jalen Miller scored seven points and Darius Robinson Jr. knocked down a three. The final 16 minutes were wire-to-wire as neither team was able to grow a lead of more than six points. McBride scored the last 12 points for ORU, but Chase Forte knocked down the game-winning free throw for South Dakota with three seconds left to bring his team to victory.
