TULSA, Okla. – A thriller at the Mabee Center left the Tommies packing as
Taleyah Jones hit a buzzer-beater three to secure a 71-68 win over St. Thomas, moving ORU to 9-1 at home this season.

Jalei Oglesby led ORU in scoring, shooting 9-14 from the field while racking up 21 points in the process.
Emily Robinson and
Meghan Weinrich each scored 12 points while
Taleyah Jones and
Makyra Tramble each recorded 11. A 12-rebound performance from
Ruthie Udoumoh helped ORU score some clutch baskets down the stretch.

The Golden Eagles opened the game up three after a layup from Megan Weinrich and a trip to the line for
Makyra Tramble. The Tommies quickly answered, going on a 6-0 run to put ORU in a three-point hole (3-6). The Golden Eagles shot just 5-18 (27.8%) from the field in the first, with four free throws limiting the damage for ORU, heading into the second quarter down 14-15.
Four straight points for
Emily Robinson opened quarter number two, giving the Golden Eagles an 18-15 lead. With 2:52 left in the first half,
Meghan Weinrich made a tough layup and a jump shot to give ORU a one-point advantage.
Makyra Tramble sealed the first half for the Golden Eagles, hitting a three to give ORU a 31-29 lead.

Coming out of the break,
Emily Robinson tacked on two layups before
Makyra Tramble hit her second triple of the game to put ORU up nine (40-31). The Tommies closed the quarter on a 7-0 run but the Golden Eagles clung onto a six-point advantage. ORU held St. Thomas to just 27.8% shooting from the field in the third quarter, extending their lead to six (50-44) with ten minutes to play.

An offensive fourth quarter had both ORU and St. Thomas knocking down shots, as the Golden Eagles and Tommies both shot 50% from the field. Despite being outscored in the quarter (21-24), a 10-14 stat line from the charity stripe proved to be the difference as ORU knocked down some clutch free throws down the stretch.
