TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team fell, 85-76, to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane Wednesday night at the Reynolds Center.
 
The Golden Eagles surrendered their first Mayor's Cup loss since 2019. Issac McBride scored a season and game-high 24 points on the night, while Sam Alajiki, Jalen Miller, and freshman JoJo Moore all reached double-digit scoring. Tulsa guard Keaston Willis tallied a team-high 22 points, draining three three-pointers and hitting nine free throws to lead the Golden Hurricane.

ORU struggled from the floor, shooting 25 percent (7-28) from three and 39.7 percent (27-68) for the game. The Golden Eagles outrebounded the Golden Hurricane 45-36 and grabbed 18 offensive rebounds. TU, however, registered six blocks, and ORU had zero. The Golden Eagles dished out just six assists on 27 made field goals. Tulsa scored 15 points off of nine ORU turnovers. TU's bench chipped in 23 points, while the Golden Eagles added 17.
 
Turning Point
ORU jumped out to a quick 12-6 lead before the first media timeout with baskets by Carlos Rosario, McBride, Miller, and Alajiki. After the break, Tulsa mustered a run of its own sparked by a pair of Willis free throws and back-to-back threes by Archie. With Archie's second three of the night, TU took the lead and never looked back. The Golden Hurricane stretched its lead out to as much as 20 in the second half and withstood a late ORU comeback to secure the win.
