NORMAN, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team tied 1-1 in a hard-fought match against Little Rock in their home opener on Thursday night.
An early foul inside the box gave the Trojans an opportunity to strike quickly, which they took advantage of when Colleen Gilliland scored on the penalty kick, putting the road team up one in the 16
th minute.
The Golden Eagles would maintain a constant offensive pressure throughout the night, outshooting UALR 21-7 and winning the corner kick battle 9-2.
At the 66
th minute, one of those corners finally broke through for ORU as
Jordyn Blackburn was able to track down the loose ball and loft it to Elle Abbey for the backdoor header.
That goal would knot the score at 1-1 where it would remain for the rest of the game.
Both programs made pushes at the end in hopes of willing their team to the win, but neither could breakthrough before the final whistle.
