The Longhorns started the game with a 15-2 run in the opening minutes of play. Forward Taylor Jones scored seven of the 15 points as the forward went to work in the paint early on. Udoumoh scored ORU's nest four points, but Texas maintained a consistent full court press to keep pressure on the Golden Eagle guards. The Longhorns forced eight first quarter turnovers and capitalized by scoring 13 points off of them. Texas held a 28-11 lead after the first ten minutes of play.

The Golden Eagles and Longhorns traded baskets during the couple of minutes to open the second quarter. At the media timeout, Texas had a 41-18 lead. Oglesby was a spark off the bench and scored seven of her 11 points in the quarter alone. Oglesby hit two jump shots and a three pointer to help keep ORU within striking distance. Taleyah Jones and Taylor Jones highlighted a high scoring third quarter of play. Texas opened the quarter with an 8-0 run sparked by two baskets from Taylor Jones. Taleyah Jones ended the run at the 7:47 minute mark as she buried her first three of the night. Taylor Jones went on a personal 8-0 run between the 6:48 and 5:40 minute mark before an Emily Robinson layup ended the run. Texas carried a 72-33 lead heading at the media timeout. Out of the timeout, Taleyah Jones knocked down two free throws and a layup as ORU battled to keep up with the Longhorn offense, but headed into the final quarter of play down 88-45.

Quick baskets by Cooper and Sara Rodrigues to begin the fourth quarter forced a Texas timeout. Another layup from Cooper made it a 6-0 ORU run before Aaliyah Mooree got the Longhorns on the board again. Taleyah Jones scored ten points in less than 90 seconds as the Golden Eagles continued to fight.
