TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team defeated NDSU Thursday night at the Case Soccer Complex, extending their winning streak to three.
The Golden Eagles and Bison played a physical first half. The ORU defensive line made it difficult on NDSU's attackers from start to finish, allowing only two shots in the first half.
The offense matched the defensive efforts, maintaining a constant pressure on the Bison backline and notching nine shots in the first half.
Both teams went into the break scoreless.
The Golden Eagles returned with a composure and competitiveness that rattled the Bison.
In the 70th minute, midfielder
Kennedy Langebartels was fouled from behind inside the box and rewarded with a penalty kick. Langebartels calmly walked up to the ball and struck it into the bottom right corner of the goal, giving ORU a 1-0 lead.
The Golden Eagles would carry this lead with them to the finish as the outlasted NDSU for the remaining 20 minutes.
