TULSA, Okla. - The Oral Roberts men's tennis team opened its fall season at the Roadrunner Invitational September 23-25 in San Antonio, Texas.
 
Two Golden Eagles won their individual singles draws at the Roadrunner Invitational. Ignacio Vinas first defeated Justin Braverman from Baylor, 6-4, 6-4, to advance to the championship match on Sunday. Vinas then won the championship match, 7-6, 2-6, 7-6 over UTA's Solano Caffarena. He came back to win after trailing 2-5 in the third set.
 
Ezequiel Monferrer defeated Arnau Miralles from Incarnate Word, 6-2, 6-2, to advance to Sunday's championship. Monferrer then topped Andoni Garmendia from Incarnate Word in three sets. He claimed the first set 6-3, but fell 3-6 in set two. He then closed it out in set three, 7-6, to win a match that lasted more than three hours.
 
Up Next: ORU will participate in the ITA All-American October 1-3 hosted by the University of Tulsa.
