#ORUMSoc Earns 2-1 Win over California Baptist

TULSA, Okla. – The ORU men's soccer team claimed a hard fought 2-1 win over California Baptist Saturday evening at the Case Soccer Complex.

The Golden Eagle offense came out in the first half and recorded four total shots. It wasn't until the 35th minute when ORU took a 1-0 lead. Felipe Medina recorded his first goal of the season when he came down the left side and scored from six yards out. Shane Anderson passed the ball to the right to Schinieder Mimy who then passed it back left to Medina for the goal. Anderson and Mimy both earned assists.

Three minutes later, Giovanni Herrera put ORU up, 2-0. Anderson passed the ball to Mimy again, but this time to the left side. Mimy then sent the ball to the middle to Herrera who sent the ball into the goal through the goalkeeper's hands. It was Herrera's first goal of the season and Anderson and Mimy each captured their second assist of the game each.

In the 77th minute, California Baptist's Leo Mendez made it a 2-1 match. Brian Gonzalez took the ball down the right side of the field and passed it to Geuchane Kinzunze. Kinzunze passed it to Mendez for the goal. Gonzalez and Kinzunze each claimed an assist.

ORU's defense held off CBU at the end as the Lancers had four shots on goal in final 10 minutes. Golden Eagle Jeremy Coste made four consecutive saves to help seal the game.

- Jeremy Coste played all 90 minutes and recorded eight saves.
