TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team fell short in the regular season finale at the Mabee Center Saturday evening to South Dakota, 92-87.
 
Five Golden Eagles scored in double-digits as Elijah Lufile had another double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Lufile went 7-for-10 overall from the field. Francis Lacis also had 15 points as he went 5-for-9 from the three-point line. Max Abmas and Issac McBride each had 14 and Carlos Jurgens scored 12.
 
ORU got things going early in Saturday's contest taking a 14 point lead eight minutes into the game. South Dakota then went on an 11-1 run to pull to within four with 9:20 to go in the first half. The Golden Eagles would then go back up by seven, but the Coyotes managed to bring it to within one, 42-41, at halftime. ORU made seven three-point buckets in the first half and shot 51.5 percent.
 
McBride opened the second stanza with a three-pointer to put ORU up by four. As South Dakota managed to tie the game, ORU would take one last lead with 18:07 to play before the Coyotes' Kruz Perrott-Hunt hit a three to take the lead for the rest of the game. South Dakota went on a 13-1 run and had a 13 point lead with 14:37 left on the clock, for its largest lead of the game. The Golden Eagles clawed back to make it a three point game with 1:04 to play. Free-throws kept South Dakota with a comfortable lead down the stretch as the Yotes finished the game with a 92-87 advantage.
 
The Coyotes had four score in the double-digits with Tasos Kamateros capturing 23 points. South Dakota shot 52 percent from the field and went 10-for-13 from the free-throw line.
 
 
Turning Point
South Dakota took a lead with 18 minutes to play and didn't let it go. The Coyotes went on a 13-1 run to go up by 13 in the second half and force ORU to play from behind.   

Individual Leaders
Oral Roberts: Lacis and Lufile each had 15 points and Lufile had 12 rebounds for back-to-back double-doubles.

South Dakota: Kamateros scored 23 and Perrot-Hunt grabbed eight rebounds.

Inside the Box Score
- The Golden Eagles scored 42 points in the paint compared USD's 52. ORU's bench production secured 21 points.
 
- ORU 48.5 percent from the field and 31.4 percent from beyond the arc.
