#ORUWBB Defeats Rogers State in Friday Exhibition, 96-74

TULSA, Okla. – Tirzah Moore poured in a game-high 22 points and Delaney Nix added 21 as the Oral Roberts women's basketball team defeated Rogers State in an exhibition Friday night inside the Mabee Center.

Tirzah Moore shot 8-of-10 from the floor and also pulled down 12 rebounds to record her second double-double in as many exhibitions. The sophomore also dished out four assists to tie for the team lead. Nix had the hot hand from three-point range as the senior knocked down 7-of-14 attempts from deep. 

Forwards Trinity Moore and Ruthie Udoumoh joined Tirzah Moore and Nix in double-figures with 11 points apiece. Trinity Moore finished the night a perfect 3-for-3 from the three-point line.

In the opening quarter, neither side was able to create much separation as the Hillcats held a 10-9 lead at the first media stoppage at the 6:31 mark. After RSU took their largest lead of the contest, 15-11, with 2:53 remaining, the Golden Eagles registered seven of the final 10 points of the quarter to even the score at 18-18. Hannah Cooper tallied four of the seven points for ORU during the stretch. 

Nix knocked down back-to-back triples in the first 30 seconds of the second stanza to put ORU in front for the first time, 24-18. After RSU trimmed the deficit to five, 37-32, with 4:43 showing on the clock, the Golden Eagles closed the quarter on a 17-3 run to take a 54-35 lead into the break. Lauren Ramey sparked the run with a layup and Talia Pogi capped it off with back-to-back baskets. During the stretch, ORU held RSU scoreless for the final 3:16 of the period.

Out of the break, the two sides traded the first 20 points before a 6-0 run by the Hillcats trimmed the lead to 64-51 at the 3:57 mark. A Cooper layup put an end to the stretch and Trinity Moore followed with a step-back jumper to stretch the lead to 68-51 as 2:48 remained in the quarter. Out of the media timeout at the 1:55 mark, RSU netted the only basket as the Golden Eagles took a 70-56 lead into the fourth.

A Nix triple jumpstarted an 18-3 run to open the fourth as the ORU lead bloomed to 29, 88-59, the largest of the contest with 5:10 remaining. During the stretch, Nix knocked down three triples to pace ORU. After the two sides traded the next 12 points, the Hillcats ended the contest on a 9-2 run. Despite the stretch, the Golden Eagles went on to defeat RSU 96-74. 

THE LEADERS
Oral Roberts: Tirzah Moore led all players with 22 points, while Nix followed with 21. 

Rogers State: Tangee Gagau and Bailey Kliewer led the Hillcats with 18 points apiece.
