Location: Case Soccer Complex (Tulsa, Okla.)

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team earned its second shutout of the weekend with a 2-0 win over North Dakota State Sunday afternoon at the Case Soccer Complex.

The Golden Eagles snapped a six game losing streak to North Dakota State Sunday afternoon and earned their first program win over the Bison at home. It was the first time since 2016 ORU has defeated NDSU.

In the first half, ORU only allowed one shot by the Bison. Louisa Ramsauer claimed one save in the first 45 minutes as ORU kept the ball in the attacking half of the field. The Golden Eagles had six shots in the first with two on goal. The lone goal of the first half was scored by ORU's Abril Lucio on a penalty kick. Sophie Nash was fouled inside the penalty area to draw the penalty in the ninth minute of play. It was Lucio's third goal of the season.

ORU did not let up in the second as the Golden Eagles recorded seven more shots with two on goal for a total of 13 shots with four on goal in the match. In the 65th minute, Kennedy Langebartels took the ball down the center of the field. Langebartels then passed the ball to the right to Mia Kitterman who dribbled into the penalty area. Kitterman sent the ball through box to the left to Alex Machado who then scored to make it a 2-0 game. It was Machado's second goal of the season and Kitterman and Langebartels each earned assists.

After the Golden Eagles took their 2-0 lead, the defense again stood firm and only allowed two shots. NDSU's Olivia Lovick sent a ball to the upper right quadrant of the goal, but Ramsauer made a great jump to punch the ball out back into the field of play. The Golden Eagles recovered as Alicia Nead took another shot for NDSU, but had it blocked in the final minutes.

With Sunday's win, and four games remaining in the regular season, the Golden Eagles have surpassed major milestones. ORU has nine wins on the season which is the most overall wins since 2016. The Golden Eagles earned their fourth Summit League victory Sunday, which is the most league wins since 2017. With the victory today, ORU has sole possession of second place in the Summit League standings.

Quote from Head Coach Austin Risenhoover
"Give our girls a lot of credit. We asked them to get six points this weekend and they did. I thought we were absolutely brilliant today. I thought we lived out our behaviors, our soccer was really good, our managing of the game was good, so I love to see the growth of this group. The biggest piece we talked about this week was it was going to be hard and it was. So scoring three and having two shutouts was perfect for what we were looking for. Tomorrow we switch to focusing on the other Dakotas."
