TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts men's basketball team will travel to Macomb, Illinois, for a matchup against Western Illinois Saturday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m. inside Western Hall.

 • For the 13th time this season, Max Abmas led ORU in scoring with 38 points at St. Thomas. It was Abmas' ninth 20-plus point game and third 30-plus point game of the season. It was his third-straight game scoring 20-plus points.

• Abmas (22.3 ppg) averages double figures to lead the Golden Eagles offense, which ranks 16th in the NCAA at 82.5 points per game. Issac McBride is the team's second leading scorer (9.9).
 
• Behind two 38-point outings this season, Abmas now ranks 4th in the nation in points per game and is third the country making 4.20 3-pointers a game. The junior recently moved past Eric Perry (1996-2000) for fifth in program history in career triples and has 250 in his tenure. He is currently 13th all-time in scoring with 1,469 career points.
 
• ORU is hitting 12.7 triples per game, second in the nation, thanks to a school-record 21 against Southwestern Christian and 19 versus Tulsa. The team has made double-digit 3-pointers in 14 of 16 outings this season.
 
• The Golden Eagles currently rank 18th in the NCAA pulling down 41.5 rebounds a contest.

Scouting the Opponent
 
 • This will be the 49th all-time meeting between ORU and Western Illinois. The Golden Eagles are 15-7 on the road in Macomb, Illinois. ORU has won five of its last six against WIU and earned the last four. In their last meeting, ORU won, 95-59, at the Mabee Center.
 
• The Leathernecks are coming off an 89-66 loss to St. Thomas. The loss against the Tommies gave the team its third-straight loss. WIU's first league win was at Denver in overtime.
 
• Western Illinois has four players averaging double-digits; Will Carius (16.9), Trenton Massner (16.0), Colton Sandage (14.6) and Luka Barisic (12.1). Carius ranks eighth in the country in three-point field goals made and 15th per game. As a whole, Western Illinois is 14th in the country and second in the Summit League in three-point attempts. The Leathernecks lead the league in offensive rebounding and turnovers per game.
