Max Abmas led the Golden Eagles with 28 points in ORU's last game at Omaha. It was the 10th-straight game for Abmas to lead in scoring and his 17th consecutive game with 10 or more points.
• Abmas (22.9 ppg) and
Issac McBride (10.9 ppg) average double figures to lead the Golden Eagles offense, which ranks 6th in the NCAA at 83.0 points per game. ORU has eight players who have scored 100-plus points this season.
• Behind two 38-point outings this season, Abmas now ranks 2nd in the nation in points per game and is 2nd in the country making 4.15 3-pointers a game. The junior recently moved past Eric Perry (1996-2000) for fifth in program history in career triples and has 270 in his tenure. He is currently 10th all-time in scoring with 1,592 career points.
• ORU is hitting 12.2 triples per game, which is 3rd in the nation, thanks to a school-record 21 against Southwestern Christian and 19 versus Tulsa. The team has made double-digit 3-pointers in 15 of 20 outings this season.
• The Golden Eagles currently rank 15th in the NCAA pulling down 40.9 rebounds a contest and 3rd in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (30.0).
Scouting the Opponent
• This will be the 20th all-time meeting between ORU and Denver The Golden Eagles trail the series, 9-10 and are 2-7 in Colorado. ORU has won the past three games against the Pioneers. In their first meeting this season at the Mabee Center, ORU defeated Denver, 83-66.
• The Pioneers dropped their last game, 72-61, against Kansas City in Denver.
• Omaha has three players averaging double-digits. KJ Hunt leads the Pioneers in scoring (15.0 ppg), followed by Jordan Johnson (11.0 ppg) and Tevin Smith (10.2 ppg).
• Denver ranked 23rd in the nation in free-throw attempts and 39th in free-throws made. Johnson stands 52nd in the country in free-throw percentage at 86.7 percent.
