FARGO, N.D. – The Oral Roberts women's soccer team played to a double overtime 2-2 draw with North Dakota State in Fargo on Friday night. The game marks the first tie of the Golden Eagles season.
Christa Van Loon opened the scoring in the 32
nd minute with her fifth goal of the season. North Dakota State quickly responded with an equalizer in the 34
th minute.
After halftime,
Mia Kitterman gave the Golden Eagles a 2-1 advantage when she found the back of the net for the third time this season.
Pamela Caballeros added her first assist of the year on Kiterman's goal.
North Dakota State evened the score in the 72
nd minute to bring the score to 2-2.
Throughout the overtime periods, but teams had several shot attempts, but neither team was able to find the net.
Notables
- ORU had not tied a game since October 31, 2019 when they played to a 4-4 draw with South Dakota.
- Friday evening's contest was the second straight overtime game for the Golden Eagles.
- Van Loon's goal pushes her team-leading total to five goals on the season.
