GRAND FORKS, N.D.  – In Sunday afternoon action, the Oral Roberts women's soccer team (3-7-1, 0-2 Summit) fell in heartbreaking fashion to the North Dakota Fighting Hawks (3-6-1, 1-1 Summit). The two teams remained deadlocked at zero until the final ten minutes of regulation.
 
Neither team was able to capitalize on a scoring opportunity throughout the first half. Sophie Nash landed the only shot on goal for either team in the 11th minute of action. The Golden Eagles outshot the Fighting Hawks 4-2 throughout the first half of play and looked to capitalize after the break.
 
In the 60th minute, Kennedy Langebartels had a great look for the Golden Eagles but shot attempt sailed just north of the crossbar. 17 minutes later, ORU had a pair of scoring opportunities that were denied by North Dakota. With exactly seven minutes left in regulation, the Fighting Hawks were able to find the back of the net and take the lead late. Louisa Ramsauer made a spectacular diving save but the ball deflected right to a North Dakota attacker who managed to bury the second chance shot.
 
In the 89th minute of action, North Dakota added an insurance goal to make it a 2-0 game. The Fighting Hawks were able to use a two-on-one break to find the net and bury the Golden Eagles.
 
Notables

• ORU outshot UND 12-10 on Sunday afternoon.
• Samantha See, Nash, Nieto, and Samantha Guzman all landed a shot on goal for ORU.
• Abbey was the lone field player to log all 90 minutes for the Golden Eagles. Jordyn Blackburn, Pamela Caballeros, Michele Bonifacio, and Langebarels all logged at least 70 minutes as well.

ORU will return to the Case Soccer Complex for a pair of Summit League games this week. The Golden Eagles will host South Dakota on Friday night and South Dakota State on Sunday afternoon.
