TULSA, Okla.  – In the closing minutes of senior night action, Oral Roberts women's soccer (5-9-2, 2-4-1 Summit) seniors Martha Helsee and Ashlyn Williams combined for the game-winning goal over St. Thomas (3-10-1, 1-5-0 Summit). The late game heroics lifted the Golden Eagles to a 2-1 win over their newest conference foe.
 
Samantha See opened the scoring on a corner kick. See curled an entry just inside the front post to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute. See's fourth goal of the season gives her 13 points, the second-highest total on the team.
 
Six minute later, the Tommies found an equalizer off the foot off of Abby Branter to knot the game up at one apiece. The Tommies and Golden Eagles would remain deadlocked throughout the remainder of the first half and deep into the second half.
 
In the 85th minute, Helsee got to be the hero on Senior Night, notching the game-winning goal with just 5:27 left to play. Helsee picked up her second goal of the season, while Williams and Jordyn Blackburn each picked up assists as the Golden Eagles soared to victory.

Notables

• ORU recognized 12 seniors following Friday's contest – Kamryn Lunde, Williams, Drishana Pillay, Patty Kliver, Pamela Caballeros, Mackenzi Kirschner, Daliisha Spence, Brianna McGowan, Nicole Gornell, Jessica Misquez, Helsee, and Rachael Baker
• Louisa Ramsauer has stopped 19 shots over the last two contests for the Golden Eagles.
• Freshman Amy Alexander was the lone Golden Eagle field player to log full-time in the match. Gabrielle Abbey played 87 minutes for ORU.
• Seven Golden Eagles landed shots on goal in the match with Samantha Guzman leading the way with two.
• This was ORU's first ever meeting with St. Thomas.
