TULSA, Okla. – For the first time in 450 days, the Oral Roberts University women's soccer took the pitch at the Case Soccer Complex. The Golden Eagles opened their rescheduled 2020 campaign with a 2-0 victory over Oklahoma Baptist in an exhibition match.
The Golden Eagles wasted no time and opened the scoring in the 21
st minute off a corner kick with a touch from
Rachael Baker.
Samantha See and
Martha Helsee both picked up assists on the opening goal, which gave ORU a 1-0 advantage..
In the 38
th minute, the Golden Eagles extended their lead to two when
Mia Kitterman found the back of the net, coming off of an assist from
Pamela Caballeros.
The Golden Eagles were held scoreless in the second half.
Louisa Ramsauer and
Kamryn Lunde combined for the shutout in net for the Golden Eagles, stopping a total of six shots on net. While held scoreless, the Golden Eagles continued to find scoring opportunities and put continuous pressure on the Bison defenders.
Notables
- 29 different members of the Golden Eagles team made an appearance in the contest.
- Freshman Louisa Ramsauer made her first career start in goal, stopping five shots in 78 minutes of work.
- Throughout the game, the Golden Eagles tallied eight corner kicks, including one that resulted in a goal from Baker.
- Shayla Padilla and Ashlyn Williams led the way for the Golden Eagles, each attempting a pair of shots on goal.

ORU will be back in action against Oklahoma City on Saturday, January 30 for their final exhibition match. The Golden Eagles officially open their season against Central Arkansas on February 5 at the Case Soccer Complex.
