TULSA, Okla. – Regan Schumacher recorded a career high as six Golden Eagles scored in double-figures as the ORU women's basketball team beat Omaha, 84-57, Thursday evening at the Mabee Center.
The opening quarter saw Omaha go up by as much as four with a minute to play. The Golden Eagles cut it to two when Regan Schumacher hit a free-throw with 37 seconds remaining. Even though ORU was down, 18-16, Keni Jo Lippe and Schumacher led the quarter with five points each. Both teams shot 50 percent from the field.
Omaha maintained the lead until 6:05 to go in the second when a five-point swing gave ORU the advantage. An 11-2 run for the Golden Eagles put ORU on top by as much as nine with 2:18 to play. ORU then extended its lead to 12 to end the half up, 41-29, and held Omaha to a 2:32 scoring drought. The Golden Eagles out-scored the Mavericks 25-11 in the second. The Golden Eagles went 10-for-13 from the field for 77 percent. Lippe scored 12 in the quarter, which put her first half points total to 17.
A close third quarter saw ORU out-score Omaha, 22-20. The Mavericks did cut the deficit to nine with 5:48 to play, but four minutes later, ORU went up by 16 when Rylie Torrey hit a fast-break bomb from long-range. Montserrat Brotons scored six in the third as ORU led 63-49.
The Golden Eagles held the Mavericks to just eight points in the fourth and scored 21. Sarah Garvie went 4-for-6 from three-point range in the fourth all within the last 3:20. Garvie scored back-to-back long-shots to go up by 21 with 2:42 to play and then again hit another pair of triples with 1:20 and 33 seconds left. ORU held on for an 84-57 win.

Oral Roberts: Lippe scored 21 points and Schumacher grabbed 11 rebounds.
Omaha: Mariah Murdie recorded 20 points with 13 rebounds.

- ORU had 28 bench points in tonight's game and 46 points in the paint.
- Golden Eagles capitalized with 13 points off of turnovers.
