TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's basketball team dropped its first Summit League home game of the season with a 76-61 loss to South Dakota State Saturday afternoon at the Mabee Center.
Regan Schumacher started thing off for the Golden Eagles scoring the first seven points as ORU took a 9-4 lead in the first five minutes of play. The Golden Eagles largest lead was 11-4 with three minutes to play. ORU led 12-8 to end the quarter and shot 42 percent while holding SDSU to 31 percent.
A four minute scoring drought started the second quarter for ORU as the Golden Eagles went down by seven in the first five minutes and then went down by as much as 14. The Golden Eagles were held to 1-for-10 from the field in the second and out-scored 25-9 for a 33-21 point deficit at the half.
The Golden Eagles trailed 58-38 after the third and was down by as much as 24. The Jacks went on a 7-0 run to push the lead in the first five minutes of the second half. SDSU went 59 percent from the field and out-scored ORU 25-17.
ORU rallied in the fourth. After being down by as much as 27, the Golden Eagles came back to make it a 13 point game with 45 seconds to play. ORU went on a 14-0 run to cut the deficit and hold the Jacks scoreless for three minutes. The Golden Eagles out-scored SDSU, 23-18, in the fourth and shot 50 percent from the field. Lippe had eight of her 24 points in the final quarter. Free-throws down the stretch made it a 76-61 advantage for South Dakota State at the buzzer.

Oral Roberts: Lippe scored 24 points and Schumacher had seven rebounds.
South Dakota State: Tagyn Larson had 17 points and 14 rebounds on the day.
