Scouting the Opponent
• The Golden Eagles are 5-8 in the all-time series against Wichita State, but dropped each of the last three meetings, all on the road, including a 68-59 setback at Koch Arena last November.
 
• The Shockers finally begin their 2020-21 campaign after being forced to cancel three games opening weekend due to COVID-19. WSU was picked to finish seventh in the American Athletic Conference Preseason Poll with the return of three starters from its 23-8 team a year ago.
 
• WSU is on a 15-game, non-conference win streak and turns to its top returning scorers, Tyson Etienne (9.4 ppg) and Dexter Dennis (9.2 ppg) to start the season.

• ORU picked up a 93-63 victory over Rogers State Saturday to win its 10th-consecutive home opener thanks to a double-double effort by Kevin Obanor (18 points, 11 rebounds).
 
• The Golden Eagles unselfish play Saturday against the Hillcats led to 19 assists on 31 made baskets as nine different players recorded at least one assist on the night.
 
• ORU currently ranks 15th in the NCAA knocking down 83 percent of its free-throw attempts (29-of-35) with Obanor making 13-of-14 through two games.
 
• Obanor (First Team) and Abmas (Second Team) earned Preseason All-Summit League honors and are ORU's top returning scorers combining to average 26.8 ppg in 2019-20. Both players are averaging 17.5 ppg this season to again pace the offense, while RJ Glasper also scores in double figures posting 11.0 ppg.
 
• ORU was picked to finish second in The Summit League Preseason Poll behind only defending regular season co-champion South Dakota State.
 
• The Golden Eagles have eight new faces for 2020-21 with two grad transfers (RJ Glasper, Justin Lovvorn), two junior college transfers (Sheldon Stevens, Kareem Thompson) and four freshmen (Jonathan Alexandre, Jamie Bergens, Nate Clover III, Ismael Plet).
