TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women's basketball team earned its first Summit League win of the season with a 70-62 victory over the North Dakota State Bison Wednesday night at the Mabee Center.
The Golden Eagles came out hot and scored 24 points in the first quarter. Keni Jo Lippe went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line to lead the team with six points. Defensively, ORU allowed six points by North Dakota State. Nena Taylor came in the game and also scored six points in the first. As a team, ORU went 61 percent from the field. The Golden Eagles went on a 13 point scoring run in the first.
In the second, Lippe led the team with nine to have a first half total of 15 points. Montserrat Brotons started the first half going 4-for-4 from the field and ended the first 20 minutes with 10 points shooting 4-for-6. Regan Schumacher, the team's leader in rebounds the past three games, had five first half boards. ORU led 44-31 at the half and shot 56 percent in the first half. North Dakota State went on a seven point scoring run in the second and out-scored ORU, 23-20. Emily Dietz led the Bison with 12 points.
North Dakota State out-scored ORU in the third, 18-11, but the Golden Eagles maintained a 55-49 lead with 10 minutes to play. The Bison had an eight point scoring run in the third, but Lippe had a total 21 points for the game after the third. ORU shot a game low 25 percent from the field in the third.
Nena Taylor hit her second three-point bucket of the game in the fourth and had a career high 11 points. Taylor also played a career high 21 minutes in the game. ORU held on in the fourth despite NDSU cutting the deficit to three points. After Lippe capitalized on the and-one with 3:12 to play, Jentry Holt put ORU up by 12 with two minutes to play. Down the stretch, NDSU made it an eight point deficit as the game went final with a 70-62 separation. The Golden Eagles shot 50 percent in the fourth and out-scored NDSU 15-13.

Oral Roberts: Keni Jo Lippe recorded 24 points along with nine rebounds. Regan Schumacher also had nine rebounds on the night.
North Dakota State: Emily Dietz scored 20 points and had six boards.
