ARLINGTON, Texas – The Oral Roberts men's tennis team saw its four match winning streak come to an end on Saturday as Lamar knocked off the Golden Eagles, 5-2, in non-conference action at the Thompson Family Tennis Center.
The Golden Eagles fell back to even on the season at 8-8 as the Cardinals improved to 9-8 on the year.
Michael Sosnowski won his sixth straight singles match to earn one of the two points for ORU as Amar Saletovic also earned a singles win.
Match Recap
- Sosnowski improved to 9-6 on the year as he battled to a 7-6, 3-6, 10-6 win at No. 5 singles. It was the sixth straight win for Sosnowski.
- Amar Saletovic had to rally for a 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 victory for Nikita Lis at No. 1 singles. The win gave Saletovic his ninth win of the year to move to 9-5 overall and 7-5 at No. 1 singles.
- Alejandro Capdequi and Jan Pehnec stole an early match at No. 1 doubles, however Lamar closed out wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to earn the first point of the match. Capdequi and Pehnec improved to 6-3 on the season with the 6-3 win.
- Capdequi dropped a heartbreaker at No. 2 singles as Michael Feucht won the match, 2-6, 6-1, 6-3. The freshman keeps his record above .500 at 6-5 with the loss.

ORU returns to Summit League action next Saturday at IPFW followed by a Sunday afternoon match against South Dakota State.
