WACO, Texas - The defensive play of the Oral
Roberts University women's soccer team was the story on Sunday as
the Golden Eagles finished in a scoreless draw against Big 12
member Baylor in Waco, Texas.
ORU, unbeaten in four of its last five matches, moved its record
to 1-3-3 on the season, while Baylor moved its mark to 6-3-1.
The goalkeeping duo of Helen
Erb and Maddie
Rhodes combined for the first shutout of the season, picking up
13 total saves
Inside the Box Score
- Helen
Erb (1-1-1) got the start and pulled in eight saves before
being sent off in the 88th minute with a red card.
- Maddie
Rhodes replaced Erb and recorded five saves in the final 22
minutes of play.
- Madison
Valenzuela and Tahlor
Lyman each recorded a shot on goal to lead the ORU attack.
- Baylor outshot the Golden Eagles, 23-4, led by Jordan Hatler
with three shots on goal.
